Schools

Learning doesn’t only happen within the four walls of a classroom. Children and young people can never be introduced to art and history too early. A museum visit teaches them to look critically, ask questions and make connections.

At Museum Hof van Busleyden, our museum classes, guided tours and walks are always adapted to the age and level of your class. That makes a visit to the museum not only educational, but genuinely enjoyable too.

Tips for a Smooth School Visit

Arrive 15 minutes early

This gives your pupils enough time to use the toilets before the tour begins. Your guide will meet you at reception. As the accompanying adult, you are responsible for your group. This way, everyone can enjoy a pleasant visit.

Put away coats and bags

Backpacks, bags, suitcases and umbrellas may not be taken into the museum galleries. Follow you guide to put them away at the start of your visit, or leave them at school or on the bus.

You cannot have lunch at the museum

Food and drink are not permitted in the museum galleries. Would you like to have a picnic with your class? You are welcome to do so in the museum garden.

Preparing Your School Visit

  1. Always book in advance

Whether you’re joining a guided tour or exploring the museum gardens on your own, always book in advance. The museum can be busy, and unfortunately we may have to turn away groups without a reservation.

  2. Free admission for accompanying teachers

Teachers receive free admission with a valid Lerarenkaart or Carte PROF teacher card. Each activity page shows how many pupils we recommend per accompanying adult.

  3. Travel free on De Lijn buses

Through DynamoOPWEG, schools can travel to the museum free of charge on De Lijn buses (under existing timetable)
